Autumn and spring are the most recommended seasons to visit Rome on vacation – April-May, September-October. When the weather in Rome is pleasant and there is no rush of tourists. The climate in Rome is comfortable, but in the summer it can be very hot and crowded in the city.

The Colosseum
The most recognizable symbol of a vacation in Rome in general and ancient Rome in particular is the Colosseum, it has a long history. The Colosseum is the largest amphitheater ever built. The site is included in the world list of the UNESCO organization.
The Pantheon
The Pantheon is a building from ancient Rome that used to be the place where all the gods were worshipped. The building is very impressive and a visit to it during a vacation in Rome is highly recommended. You can go inside the church and get an impression of the building from the inside.

Combine a visit to the beautiful via della pace street as well.

Rome for the traveler - the Spanish Steps
The Spanish Steps are a staircase that includes 136 steps that connects Piazza di Spagna to Piazza Trinita di Monti and is considered one of the most visited areas in Rome. Although these are only stairs, there is a lot of action around them. They are adjacent to the main shopping street Via del Corso, to many restaurants, ice cream and cafes. It is recommended to order something takeaway and enjoy sitting on the stairs while watching the passers-by.

Trastevere
Trastevere, one of the most beautiful neighborhoods and highly recommended to visit while on vacation in Rome. Its name means “beyond the Tiber”, due to its location across the Tiber River. The neighborhood is especially loved by local young people. You will find plenty of boutiques selling jewelry, perfumes and handicrafts, beautiful narrow streets, bars, nightlife, restaurants and many cafes. Recommended restaurant in the neighborhood Antica Trattoria da Carlone. For biscotti lovers, stop for fresh biscotti in the bakery at Biscottificio Artigiano Innocenti, and if you want a French dessert, go to Le Levain.

A good cafe and restaurant in Trastevere Ercoli Trastevere. They have great coffee and desserts.
Another recommended Italian restaurant is called Nannarella. It is recommended to reserve a place in advance.
Trevi Fountain
The Trevi Fountain is probably one of the most romantic and photographed places in Rome. The fountain is also called the wishing fountain, and the legend says that every person who throws a coin into the fountain will return to Rome in the future. It is highly recommended to visit early in the morning or late at night, so you will meet less of tourists trying to take the perfect selfie against the background of the fountain.
4 minutes walk from the fountain, there is a lovely view of Rome from the La Rinascente mall. You can sit there in the restaurant to eat or drink something and enjoy the beautiful view of the city.

The Jewish ghetto, a street full of charm, located between Campo de Fiori and Piazza Venezia. You will find kosher Jewish food on the street, including fried Jewish artichokes. A famous dish in Roman Jewish cuisine. You can eat the famous dish at this restaurant ristorante al pompiere. Don’t miss a visit to Pasticceria Boccione for a perfect taste of ricotta and cherry pie.
Campo di Fiori
Campo di Fiori is one of my favorite places in the city. A stunning market of fruits, vegetables, cheeses and good things. The atmosphere is lively and colorful. It is recommended to come here during the day and also to visit in the evening when the place is full of people in the restaurants, bars and cafes around.
If you want to try a good ice cream, 5 minutes away is a recommended ice cream Gelateria Artigianale.
