Brunch in Barcelona you shouldn’t miss

Most hotels in Barcelona don’t serve breakfast, which gave us a perfect reason to look for a good brunch to start our day with. Write to yourself these two places down for the next time you visit Barcelona and desire an unusual brunch.

We had our first brunch at the Brunch & Cake café. There are five different branches around the city, three of them serving only coffee and cakes, and the other two offer a diverse delighting brunch.

We ate in the main chain near the marine of Barcelona. All the dishes are wonderfully colorful. The menu is marked, showing if anything contains eggs/dairy/vegan/vegetarian/gluten/nuts/soy, etc…

So what did we eat??

We ordered a dish of scrambled egg in a fresh bagel with avocado slices on top, served on a spread of chickpeas with nuts. Perfect dish! It cost 10.45 euros.

The second dish was made out of toast from olive dough-bread, topped with olive oil, shed tomato and avocado spread with additional avocado slices and fried halloumi cheese. You can ask for additional smoked salmon or a poached egg. The dish is amazing! It costs 8.70 euros. Additional halloumi cheese costs 2.70 euros and smoked salmon costs 3.50 euros.

We ordered a vanilla latte cappuccino to drink, the beverages are served in a massive indulging glass with edible leaves garnish, next to healthy and delicious brown sugar 🙂

Because we enjoyed our brunch so much and saw the wonderful dished served to the tables near us, we came back after a few days to try two additional dishes, which turned out spectacular.

One was of a butter-croissant filled with scrambled egg with tones of parmesan cheese and fried mushrooms.

Generally, this dish is served with bacon, because I don’t eat bacon I asked for a dish without. The price is 10.50 euros.

Another dish we tried is an avocado burger served with fried halloumi, cheddar cheese, crispy potatoes, a fried egg, and on the side some fired pineapple slices covered in coconut- yummy! The price is 9.80 euros.

The menu is so rich and full of goodies, that I am certain that I will return next time I am in Barcelona to try more delights. By the way, the desserts look amazing, but unfortunately, I was too full to try them.

Another place we visited for breakfast is called Farggi and is located in the gothic quarter. The place started its way as a sorbet-ice cream factory in 1957, but it opened since many cafés around the city, which serve breakfast/lunch in addition to the ice-creams. You can watch the making process and get tempted by the smell when entering the café.

We ordered a salty crepe with fresh spinach, burrata cheese, and tomatoes, glazed with a pesto spread. It was yummy! It costs 6.90 euros.

And we ordered toast with avocado slices, topped with a mushroom and walnut omelet. Simple and delicious, costing 8.10 euros.

Here as well tons of desserts tempted us like sweet crepes with special fillings or hot churros served with thick chocolate. Next time I’ll go straight to dessert 🙂
